Music Magazine Production: RIP

My music magazine show will be called 'RIP' and will approximately run for 60minuiuts. Above the title you will see the logo I have desgined for my show.The name of my show 'RIP' stands for rest in peace but the main reason I am calling my show RIP is because I want it to contradict the real meaning of the Abbreviation RIP instead of it meaning something that is dead I want it to mean something that is soon approaching, so RIP to what use to be music and Rest In Perfection to what is music now. My show format will be a mix between Keith Lemon Celebrity Juice and T4. The style format of my show will be a music magazine show.

My show RIP is to represent the young British teenagers which is why I have decided for my theme to be very outrageous,vintage and very up to style with fashion when coming to the design of the set. I would like my music magazine show to evolve around three words, these words are:

I have chosen to work around these three words when coming to the mood and theme of my set because the brief wants it to be aimed towards E4 viewers from the age 14-20. I feel my chat show should be very edgy and outrageous because the British viewers age 14-20 would more likely listen to urban, hip hop, pop and RNB music this is because this is what is trendy.  For my music magazine show I have had influences by Rita Ora, Rihanna and Lady Gaga because these are the biggest females right now and are what most young people look up to. By just looking at the way these individual artists dress makes me want to have my set very outrageous from the set design to the format of the show.

The word fun makes me think of the visual style, I want the visual style/set design to be very youthful and fun with the use of different colours and different prints. I have also have influences from the Jonathon Ross show when it comes to designs with the printed background it just makes it seem more pleasing to the eye. Also the word fun, I want my overall show to be fun which is why I will add lots of different aspects too it so live performances, quizzes and humour throughout the show.

The word urban represents the songs I will be playing in the studio for example: Rihanna-Talk That Talk, Rita Ora-Hot Right Now and So On. The set design will also reflect on the word urban through the bold different colours and the Graffiti Affect.

 
 The word bold is to make my show seem very unique and bold. I want my show to be different from every other show by making it seem as spontaneous as possible. I want the set up to look very bold, urban but still have that chat show element.

Programme Format:

I want my programme to start off with a VT of what you would see in the show (will be discussed next). I want the VT to look very comically so lots of bold writings and I want it to be a 3minuit video. Just to introduce everything.

Show Starts 6pm (Running Order):

6.00-6.10: Morgan & Shriya Walk onto stage (Camera picks them up from backstage getting ready) and then follows them walking in. I have taken inspiration from the show 'The Voice' when it comes to seeing the artists backstage first because it just gives the show that bit more excitment but of course I will make sure I make it fit in with the music show. Underneath shows a picture of how I would like it to look.

 I would like the presenters to come on in a fun way whether that is pretending to dance or messing about because I want my show to really reach out to the younger geneation.

6.10-6.15: Morgan & Shriya will say hello (written in script) and then go on to talk about who will be coming on stage. They will then Invite guests in, three people per team this will be so they can have a quiz, the quiz will be related to the three music video's I will be showing. Each guest will have a short introduction about them with some humour for example how Keith Lemon introuduces Holly Willoughby and Fearn Cotton. This is to show that the show is not serious and it is enjoyable to watch.

6.30:

Game Quiz Starts with Guests: Team 1: Talha(Shriya's Music Video), Tyra (Pretend PopStar) and Lamar.Team 2: Bikram(Amrit's Video), Sarah (Pretend Popstar) and Spencer.

Within the competiton you will see three different music video's these being Mine & Alysia's music video, Shriya and Sam's music video and Amrit and Raees music video. The quiz will be based on each music video which is why there are two people that were in both video's.

Guests Will be asked questions just like celebrity Juice but just about the music video's instead, I took inspiration from the Keith Lemon Show ''Celebrity Juice' because its not so serious and is very funny and catchy to watch which is how I want my show to be. I don't want it to get boring.

Presenters will then go to ask the crowd if they have any questions, stuff from twitter can also come in relating to the music video. Which one they preferred what they liked about them and so on.

6.45: Break

6.50: Come back and there will be a live performance by Tyra (Female Artist).

All guests leave with the presenters left to close the show.

Content Idea's

My main content idea is to make my music magazine show have a main aspect being the quiz which will have to do with different music genres and different music video's. I will also have a live performance towards the end.

Studio Design/Background Sketch

So my overall theme of teh whole set and design is to be very vintage and trendy. It is very important that the studio set up looks the part because I want to fit in with what I want the presenters to wear and also want the music and setting design to reflect on each other. So my overall concept of my show RIP will be a Hip Hop/Pop genre based with other genres getting played like grime,rap,rnb and so on. I want my studio to look funky but take inspiration from the Graham Norton Show Set Up. I've made design how I want it to look like, see images below.

I want the background to look like walls but pink walls shown underneath, I have this kind of wallpaper so that the set looks very vintage and almost like your in an actic like the set you see on T4 when you see Rita Ora having an interview. So I want the walls to look very vintage and I want one wall to have a specific wallpaper which I have designed aswell(see image below). I have decided to go for the graffiti look because I have really bee infulenced by Brick Lane in Liverpool St because its very commercial looking and trendy and I thought if my show looked like that it would look completely different to any of show you would watch.

 

I have taken alot of inspiration from the background and setting of Graham Nortons show, I want to use the same format but I want a main table which is where me and Shriya will sit which is like the table you see Keith Lemon have but my own design. I also want the two tables the way it is set out on the Celebrity Juice Show. I dont have a specific colour because I want lots of colour clashes and so on. I also want lots of different wacky things to makes the whole scene look very commercial and funky.

 

I want the presenters to compliment the visual style of the set which is why I want them to dress very commercial with lots of prints and bold colours. I have taken inspiration from the way Rihanna, Rita Ora and Jessie J dress because its very different to how most females dress and alot of young people look upto these artists when it comes to the fashion side of things. I think that it is important that the overall vision style is completly different to what you normally see , which is why I dont want the presenters to look dressed up with heels etc I want them to look more casual.

I like the way Rita Ora dresses because its very bold and it also goes with the set of the graffiti wall. It looks ver urban aswell so it goes with my theme.

The reason I want the presenters to dress very urban is because that is the trend now for the younger generation especially when it comes to people who take a keen interest in hip hop and pop music. I don't have a specific costume idea because I would prefer the presenters to wear what they feel comfortable in but make sure they wear bold colours and colour clash their outfits or wear big bold shapes and pattern prints. So the overall look is based on the three artists: jessie j, rihanna & rita ora  

Presentation Style:

 I want my overall presentation style seem very informal because its for people between 14-20 and they would not take keen interest in a music show that is very formal. The main concept of my style is for it to be very humorous and outrageous, I will show this in my presentation through making the presenters talk very lay back and in the script have little funny jokes and funny comments. I will make the way the presenters introduce the guests very funny just like Keith Lemon Portrays the funny character when introducing his guests. I will also portray the outrageous style through the way the presenters are dressed and through the set up of the studio.
