Live Day Reflection

Reflection Of The Live Day
''Trapstar''
________________________________________

Summerise Your Role:
My role was to act as a presenter with Shriya, within my role today was to make sure that the guests Govind and Erisa knew what they were doing and felt comfortable with the whole setting. Before doing practice runs I made sure that Govind knew what questions to ask and had an idea of what to answer with and Shriya done the same thing with Erisa. As a presenter I had to make sure the main points got across when filming which was about the music video we had previously made. I also had to make sure throughout the day I worked alongside with Keren because we had to make sure the answers the were correct to the answers we had on the graphics. I also had to work with the director making sure everything was right and that we dud not run over time. So overall within my role today I worked with everyone from lighting to sound mixer and so on. I also had to make sure in my role I could take orders from the floor manager this was making sure I looked into the right camera and knew if I had to speed up or slow down.

What difficulties did you have:
Overall the only difficulty I had was making sure I stuck to the time limit because we found out that in the rehearsals we always went over on time because me and Shriya would talk for too long. I also found it difficult to make sure I followed the script because the script is what the director took queues from and also whilst sticking to the queues I had to keep looking at raees to see about timing and to see where I need to look at the different cameras.

What solutions did you find for these problems:
The solution I found to the look at the cameras was as I spoke I just knew to look were because were we had been practising all day I knew by the end when I had to look and raaes sometimes would say it loud whilst the VT is playing. I also found it easier to just refer to the script so that way I could always get the lines right.

What skills do you think you have gained:
I feel after the whole live day and the rehearsals leading up to it I have gained skills in communicating with others which was needed when speaking to the rest of the crew members and also making sure that when Tyra, Govind and Erisa came felt okay and confident. I also feel I have gained leadership skills in a way because if I did not act as a leader when the guests came they probably would not be as confident when they were on set.
What advice would you give to someone about to undertake your role in a live studio show?
I would give someone else who would want to take my role to make sure the whole time on set they are constantly referring back to the script because its important so the ques are right also I would advice them to keep calm cause that way the conversation will flow more easily without mistakes, this can help for if someone messes up with a line or something technical messes up that they should be able to get it back together without making it obvious.
How could you expand your role:
I would expand my role by makig that not only I followed my own duties and skill ut als done alot more tp help out with crew memers for example it is important that if someone on the production crew needed help I should make it easier for them and assit them when necessary because this will come under duties rather than skills for examplp team work and aking sure something gets done to a near by proffesional standards

Costume, Hair & Make Up

Make Up
This task involved me trying different make up shades and different looks for example plain, outrageous and so on. I had to try these different style of make up because I had to see what would go best with the lighting, plus most of the time wearing simple make up on set with lighting can make your face look very drained out. Underneath is my experiment of different lipstick colours, this was my preparation before trying my full face make up with the lighting. I also wanted to have a look at some different make up styles on the internet to get some influences.

Experimenting: Different lip tones
Underneath shows me experimenting with different lip tones before trying different make up tones.
Pink Lip Tone
Red Lip Tone
The lip tone towards the left looks very settle and looks almost natural so perhaps may not look very strong once the lights are on however the red lip tone towards the right looks very strong and the lighting may bring it out more.

Brown Lip Tone
Light pink Lip Tone
The lip tone towards the left looks very smart and almost very natural which may not go with the young feel and theme the lip colour towards the right looks very outrageous and does not compliment my skin tone, this could look much lighter with the lights on.

The last lip colour I have gone for is just a clear lip-gloss, the lip gloss look will not go well with the lighting because when you wear lip-gloss the lights make it run down your lips and it can also just look too shiny and be a distraction to the viewers.

Production Meeting 4

Production Meeting Reflection 4
Summerise the key points you made this week within you role:

My first main role this week was to make sure I worked with Shriya my co-presenter and Sam the director to make sure the final dialogue script with the changes that the director said had to be changed for example the Tyra interview because she was not longer doing the live day, she was only doing the pre-recorded interview. My other role that I had to complete this week was my costume, hair and make up this involved in bringing in different costumes to try on with the lighting, I also had to try different hair styles and make up tones. This was important because what I wear for the show has to go with the theme, compliment the lights and also engage the younger generation.
The groups response to what I had done this week was good, they all supported what I was doing and the floor manager helped set up the lights for me so I could try my different costumes. The group's response to the script was mainly them asking questions with what was going on where and when because they then had to complete their own scripts from what is on the main dialogue script.

Overall I think the whole costume experimenting was very successful because it helped me and Shriya understand what colours go with what lighting and more importantly what goes with us and our personalities. The whole lesson of us trying on our different outfits was successful overall because me and Shriya got to exchange idea's the whole crew members were watching and gave feedback on what they personally liked. The whole point of us trying on the costumes were for us to see what we wanted to wear for the live day but other things came out of it for example we realised the lights get very hot so it would make more sense to wear less layers and so on.

I think I need to work on developing my whole idea of costume and hair and say how and why I was influenced. I also have to decide what costume and hair I will be doing. I need to work on doing my make-up in the lighting to see what shades go best with what light and more importantly what look I would be going for.

This week I worked closely with Sam the director and Shriya when finishing the script and it was affective because it meant we got it done faster and we all understood what was going on which is important because if we wasn't doing it together we may miss understand what was said and so forth. I also worked very closely with my peer Shriya who is also a presenter when we was doing the whole costume, hair and make up and this was very successful because we both helped each other out on choosing different outfits and we also both gave our true opinion which helped me also decide with the outfit I chose in the end. The last reason why it was affective working with Shriya was because we both got to see what one and another was going to wear and could see if what we wanted to wear had any links because if our outfits did not go it would look stupid.

My main fear is when I'm on set, if I forget my line because if I forgot my line it could put the crew off time especially for Keren who is taking signals from the lines I am suppose to be saying. The last fear I have is if I start to panic when raees tells me to speed up the process because it could put me off and I could start mumbling.

Costume, Hair and Make Up

Hair
Underneath shows a variety of hair styles I tried on my hair to make my outfits look more urban, the different hairstyles all have different meaning which is why I tried to see what one will best suit me and the mode of address and compliment the show.

Hairstyle 1

This hairstyle is the 'messy look' I tried this hairstyle first to see if it would go with the feeling being young and free as appose to the hair being messy and free. I then thought would it go with my outfit and what I'm trying to overcome and it did not this was because if the viewers see my hair messy they may think I'm not serious and maybe the show is not serious. I also wanted young girls who watch the show to have some influences on what I am wearing and how I look and the hair like this did not go with what I wanted to portray myself as.

Hairstyle 2

This hairstyle is the 'Straight' look this is the kind of look you would go for if you have to look very plain and natural. I feel this hairstyle does not look ambitious enough for the type of show we are portraying. I feel the hairstyle looks to simple and would not really compliment my outfit.

Hairstyle 3

This hair style is known as the 'messy bun' the messy bun is more used for when your going to the shop or something, mainly for the use of doing your hair really quickly which is why I do not think this hair would suit the show or me. If I am wearing something really nice and my hair is like this is would not make any sense. It would also look like I don't care about my image.

Hairstyle 4

This hairstyle is called the 'side slicked' hairstyle this hairstyle is a sort of hair style that you would have to compliment a really outrageous outfit, I feel this hair style is very clam but look edgy at the same time which could help compliment my outfit.

Hairstyle 5

This hairstyle is the 'back pony-tale' which how many news presenters would have their hair because it looks very smart and helps to give a clear look and also helps them to look very plain. I don't think this hairstyle will go with the show because the show is aimed at young people and if I look smart they might not want to watch the show because they may get the impression that it is a very serious show.

The hairstyle I have chosen:

I have chosen this hairstyle because it looks very young and the curly look goes well with the whole urban theme it can also compliment my outfit but not look over the top because the curls will be loose curls. This will also look nice with the lighting because it will stand out with the black backdrop.

Costume: Trying Different Outfits

Costume
In this document shows the different outfits I tried on with the lighting. This was to give me an idea of what outfits would go better with the lighting.

Costume 1:  The costume below shows my first outfit choice, I choose to see what this outfit would look like because it is very casual, so I thought it would be nice to see what it looks like with the colouring and it can also help give off an impression that the show will be very relaxed and casual.

Costume 2: This costume below shows my second costume choice, I decided to try something very colourful and take inspiration from the leggings Nicki Minaj, Jessie J and Rihanna wear because they look very trendy and with a black backdrop they will stand out on the lights. I decided to try this outfit with the lights to see if the colour light compliments the leggings.

Costume 3: This costume below is my third choice of costume, I decided to try this costume because the black shiny leggins are in fashion and the gold trainers go with the show's ident being gold, white and black. I also felt the white shirt and black leggings look sophisticated and by wearing trainers with them the outfit would look more urban which then links back to the theme. I also wanted to see how the white short would go up against the lighting, i did not want the white top to make me look white so it was important that I tried it with the lighting.
Costume 3: The next outfit that I tried was another outfit involving patterned leggings but these leggings are more dark and I wanted to see how they would go with the light because if the lighting made them look darker it would not make sense to wear them because the backdrop for the live day would be black. I also feel the leggings are very commercial and stand out because of the bold print they will also support the theme of urban.
Costume 3: The next outfit I tried was a very plain outfit and I wanted to try this because I thought by wearing something plain will compliment the set because were the set is going to be filled with lots of different props if I was to wear something bold as well it could look a bit to much and very crazy and that is not what we wanted to go for especially because the show is more like a magazine show.

My Final Costume Choice:
The costume below shows the outfit that I will be wearing for the live day and this is my reasoning for my choice. I have chose to wear this outfit because the blazer is very high in fashion around young people and the shiny leggings look smart/sophisticated and by wearing trainers with the outfit makes it look more commercial and urban which goes with the theme. The outfit also compliments the shows ident because the ident is black, gold and white.

Costume, Hair & Make Up

 Costume
In this task me and my co-presenter Shriya had to test out different costumes prior to the live day, this was for the purpose of us choosing what outfits we preferred and also do the outfits compliment the lighting and backdrop. I brought in 6 different outfits to choose from and see how they went with the lighting. Before bringing in my range of clothes are done some research on some of my female influences to see what style of clothes they wear and from doing this developed some of my own outfits. Underneath shows the different influences I had when choosing different outfits and how my outfits relate to the influences I had, I have also chosen the outfit that I will be wearing on the live day.

Production Meeting Reflection 3

Summerise the Key Points you Made this week within you Role:
This week within my job role I looked at Mode of address, this was to look at the different types of way I could present myself as a presenter, I also had to look at how I wanted to be presented. In more detail I needed to make sure out of the modes of address I tried that the one I would pick would be appropriate for the style of show, appropriate for the audience and appropriate in terms of themes. So whilst considering all of that me and Shriya my colleague who is also a presenter decided to do some research on various shows and look at how each presenter presented themselves and why they did so.

After looking at other Presenters me and Shriya decided to film ourselves doing a range of different mode of addresses this was so we could decide what fitted our personalities best and the actual show. We came up with different modes of address and some of these were funny, serious, aggressive, ghetto/street etc this was to test lots of different addresses. We also came up with the final decision this week with what mode of address we would be using on the live show day.
What was the groups response to your ideas/progress?
This week we was not able to have a production meeting, so I was not able to tell the whole group about my progress and my idea's. However each individual had to film  there self saying what they had done this week and what they would be doing next week, this was so that everyone could see where most people got up to and so on. So after uploading my video of me talking about what I had done so far I will go and see what the other crew members think about what me and Shriya have agreed on (Mode of address).
What has been successful this week?
This week my overall task that I got set to do with Shriya which was on modes of address was successful because we both came to a decision of what mode of address to use for the show and we also gained a lot of knowledge of how we should present ourselves which has helped us out for the filming of the main show. I also feel like the analysis of each of the modes of address went well because we both gave our opinions on each of the modes of address and we always referred back to the brief.
What do you need to change or develop and why?

I feel that my work does not need to be change because me and Shriya analyzed all the video's and also thought very carefully about what we wanted to portray in each video, the only thing I could say I would like to develop is the way the guests talk so what I will like them to talk like from the way they present themselves because it is important that you can see three different characters.

What do you intend to do next week?
Next week I will be looking at hair, make up and costume with Shriya. We will be looking at how the way some presents them-self can give an image, for example what we wear needs to link back to the theme being urban so we would have to have a close look at different urban outfits and look at what may work and what may not work. So by doing this process will help me and Shriya decide what to wear for the actual live day making sure we consider the colour scheme and also the colour of the lighting, making sure everything goes together.
We will also look at different make up tone and whether its ideal to wear mineral foundation or powder because on camera you do not want to look shiny because of the light contract. So its very important for me and Shriya to get a feel of what the lights will look like with our make up and what make up features look better with lighting i.e dark smokey eyes or very calm eyeshadow.
How did you work with your hierarchical peers this week? Was it effective?

This week I mainly worked with my fellow presenter Shriya because we both had to look at the different types of modes of address and this had to be an overall agreement of what mode of address we would be going for. We also had to work with the lighting/set designer being Alysia so she could have a look at what lighting fits the theme better and what lighting brings out me and Shriya. I also had to do a lot of work besides the director because it was important that everything me and Shriya had been doing that he knew about it, we also had to make sure he had our full script.

I felt overall working alongside my co-presenter was affective because we both had idea's that we could both share which made our overall look and image as presenters seem more engaging, it was also affective that we got to do the mode of address together because it has helped prepare us for the live day.
It was also affective working with the lighting/set designer because if gave me an understanding of what the lighting would be like which then helped me decide of what colour would best work with the lighting colour.

Mode Of Address

Mode Of Address
This week I have had to look at the different Modes of address that could be used and give reasoning why they would work and why not. So me and Shriya (presenter) discussed how we wanted to portray ourselves on camera and what mode of address what work best with the theme, set up and the type of show it is for example making sure the mode of address fitted the brief which was to be aimed at 14-21 year old.

The whole point of planning how we spoke on camera was so that when it came to filming the live day me and Shriya knew what was acceptable of us and what was not for example looking back the ghetto/street talk was not acceptable because we don't want the show to influence young people talk rudely.

Once talking about how we wanted to come across on camera Shriya and I decided to film ourselves do the same intro line but to various of modes of address this was so we could watch it back and see what we thought would be best. We decided to try 8 different modes of address and then to analyse each one briefly. The 8 modes of address we decided to look at and film ourselves doing were:
-Aggressive
-Serious
-Funny
-Sarcastic
-Ghetto/Street
-Unclear
-Informal
-Crazy

After we had watched all the video's back me and Shriya came up with four questions to answer for each video these were: Did we like it? Could it work? Why might it not work? Would we be using it? These questions helped us understand what is expected of us when presenting our show 'Trapstar' and whilst looking back on the video's we always had to refer it back to what the brief wanted. Underneath shows all the different modes of addresses we covered with some analysis as well.

The video below is an introduction video of the Modes of Address!

Underneath is the first mode of address which is;  Serious. Within this video we also analyse the mode of address.

Underneath is the second mode of address which is; funny Within this video we also analyse the mode of address.

Underneath is the second mode of address which is; Crazy Within this video we also analyse the mode of address.

Underneath is the second mode of address which is; Unclear Within this video we also analyse the mode of address.

Underneath is the second mode of address which is; aggressive Within this video we also analyse the mode of address.

Production Meeting Reflection 2

Summarise the key points you made this week within your role
This week at the production meeting I was not there however, Shriya spoke on behalf of me because we are both the presenters but my role this week was to help Sam the director and Billy the mixer to help create a timed scripts this included all the timings and ques for when certain VT's come in and out this is also to help the running order making sure we have set times for each part i.e for the introduction we only 2minuits. The main reason for doing the timed script with the director and mixer was so we could all decide what we would be including in the show and when it would be shown and how long for. The whole idea of giving each section a set time was to make sure we filled up the whole 20minuits for the show.

I then also started writing up mine and Shriya's script for the show independently, my role was to write up the first 10minuits of the script and Shriya would do the follow up. I only got through to doing up to introducing the first VT being the music video by Shriya and Sam this was because I had to make sure that I thought about the Mode of Address and the timings for each part.

What was the groups response to your idea's/progress?
Well the group did not respond to my idea's/progress as I could not attend the production meeting however I watched the video and saw the feedback Shriya got and she is my co-presenter so I will talk about the groups response to her seeing as we both have to take on board all their comments/advice. They all seemed supportive throughout the video and suggested to Shriya that we should do samples of our hair and makeup the following week, this was so the set designer could get a feel of how we are going to be dressing and could then set the theme around that, it is important that what me and Shriya are wearing compliments the set. The group also suggested that Shriya and I should collaborate with the lighting team as this would help with hair and make up and see what goes better for example it would not make sense to have smokey eyes and the lighting to be very dark because we will look scary. So the whole point was to see what make up would go with the lighting.

What has been successful this week?
Overall this week the timed script was successful because we assisted Sam with the running order so this was helpful for the rest of the group so then they could start working from that. Also me starting the script was successful because Shriya then understood the mode of address we were going for and it meant that Shriya could do her half without me. Also the start up of script was successful because although I didn't do much I still gave it to Sam(Director) which then helped him start his next task.

What do you need to change or develop and why?
Overall I don't really need to change anything I just need to develop mine and Shriya first half of the script making sure it goes with our mode of address and also fits the theme of the show. I also just need to clean up the writing making sure everything makes sense and runs smoothly.

What do you intend to do next week?
Me and Shriya has decided to start our Mode of address next week this is so we can make sure the script is on the same address as what we said. This means we will record ourselves doing lots of different modes of address that we may won't to try and see if it would work with our script and after that we would re-film our self with the chosen mode of address. I think me and Shriya have started gathering idea's together with some modes of addresses we can try and these are Funny/Humorous, Street/Urban and Crazy/over the top.

How did you work with your hierarchical peers this week? Was it effective?
I worked with Sam and Billy this week to help create the timed script and of course because Sam is in charge because he is the Director we just assisted him although we all still gave in our idea's and opinions and this was affective because it was good because the idea picked was from Shriya so she knew what concepts she wanted in the show. The reason working with the Director and Mixer was effective was because it made the overall show more exciting because by having more than one persons input gives lots of different idea's and an overall exciting show.

Draft Script-Presenters

After having a production meeting our teachers decided that I would fit the part of Presenter because of my out going personality and confidence. I have been put as a presenter with Shriya and our first task as presenters was to complete a draft script of what we would like to say and ask the presenters. It is a draft because once we have done a draft srcipt we then have to give it to the director Sam who will then do the full script of timing and ques of when to come in and out with lighting aswell. Underneath is the first draft of the script that I have completed this is yet to be change and is only the first half of the show.

Hierachy Of Production Crew

Job Roles of a Multi-Camera Production

Job Roles of a Multi-Camera Production

Duties Vs Skills
Duties- A duty is something that is expected to be completed and is specific tasks that must be performed within a role. Someone’s duty can vary from what position that are for example a student’s duties would be things like making sure they come to school every day, complete work for allocated deadlines, making sure they bring all their own equipment etc. So someone’s duties are more like basic expectations.
Skills- A skill is more a skill you may have and is able to get better and is where you can learn and get better. A skill can also be an element of your personality which helps you perform effectively in a specific job role.
Hierarchies- A hierarchies is the structure of an organization depending on levels for example in Chadwell Heath the Hierarchies would look like this;
1) Governors
2) Head teacher
3) Deputy Head/Assistant
4) Head of Departments
5) Teachers/Staff
In a multi camera production there are many different roles and each role have specific jobs to do which leads to their specific duties and skills. In a multi camera production there are 10 main job roles these are; Camera Operator, Sound Mixing, Vision Mixing, Directing, Set Designer, Lighting Desk, Floor Manager, Graphics generation, VT Operator and Presenter.
__________________________________________________
Camera Operator
A Camera Operator has to perform vital roles within the camera department. They have a duty to support the director of photography and the director to accurately carry out their instructions regarding shot composition and development. So the Camera Operators main role is to overlook of the filming and film himself/herself.  Some of the things a camera operator may have to do will include things like looking through and operating the camera. The camera person whether boy or girl is responsible for physically operating the camera and maintaining composition and camera angles throughout a give scene or shot. So applying that to what we are doing the Camera operator will have to make sure when filming the chat show they have to make sure all cameras are operating properly and need to makes sure the cuts go and so on. Whoever the camera operator is for the chat show needs to be able to listen to what the director is saying and needs to be able to follow the instructions. A camera operator does not need a specific degree in filming but it helps if they have a National Occupational Standards for camera work and if they have plenty of experience in the filming industry.
Skills a Camera Operator may need: A camera operator needs to have a high understanding of cameras and they also need to be able to talk with anyone. This is very important because if they were filming a scene of two actresses and the actresses did not feel comfortable acting in front of the camera operator could lead to problems, also anyone on set or off set needs to be able to talk to the camera operator which is why it is essential they have good communication skills. A skill operator also needs to be able to take in instructions and do them to how the director wants them to be. A camera operator needs to have good IT skills with good colour vision which is key for someone filming. They also need to have stamina because they would be working very long hours and will always be on their feet whether they are moving from camera to camera or carrying things in and out of the room (Scene room).
Duties: A duty a camera operator will need is they will need to be able to take in camera directions, they also need to make sure their own time for work all the time and also make sure that all cameras are set up and prepared for filming so save time. Another duty that is very important for a camera operator is they need to be able to multi task.

Hierarchies-Camera Operator
Overall the Camera Operator will be at the bottom of the structure because they do not really have an opinion to what they want to do with the filming and cutting most of the time the director would say I want it to cut here etc and they have to listen, they can also get told what to do by the presenter if the presenter is the person who wrote the script. So the Camera Operator does not have much important. Underneath shows where the Camera Operator would be in the structure of hierarchies:

1) Producer
2) Unit Production Manager
3) Director
4) Script Supervisor
5) Graphics Generation                                                                                                              6) Camera Operator
So in the hierarchies of a television crew the camera operator is towards the bottom because they don’t really get an input they get told by the director what to do and sometimes the presenter if they have had input in the script. It is very unlikely for the camera operator to put forward their idea.

________________________________________________

Job Roles of a Multi-Sound Mixer
A sound mixers job is to mix different audio’s together for example dialogue, music etc. sound mixer is responsible for ensuring that dialogue recorded during filming is absolutely clear for viewers to hear what the presenter or actress etc is saying. A sound mixers job can be very tricky because when they are filming they may get over noises in when trying to film the dialogue which can cause unwanted noises which they will have to deal with. Or the required camera shots hinder the placing of microphones.
Duties: A Sound mixers main duty is to make sure two weeks prior to the production day they need to meet up with the producer and director to discuss their creative intentions. So this shows that a sound mixer has input in what they think would make the production better in their work place. The meet ups before the actual filming day are for them to discuss the sound whether it will be naturalistic or stylised. The sound mixer also meets up with the costume department and visual effects supervisors to discuss the placement of the different microphone that will be there to pick up the actors/actresses voices. Another duty a sound mixer has to make sure they go to the set locations to see if there would be any possible sound problems.
Skills: A sound mixer must have certain skills these include things like having good communication skills this is important for a sound mixer because they need to be able to communicate with the producer and director. They also need to be able to give clear directions and receive directions and be able to undertake what is being asked for them to do. The last skill’s they must have is the ability to make good decisions even if under pressure and be able to edit the sound precisely.
For a sound mixer they must have training in what they do before, the main course that sound mixers must have in a specialist training in sound recording and then they will have to go on to a junior levels that is associated within the sound department. A sound mixer needs qualifications at HND, BA and post graduate levels.
Hierarchies-Sound Mixer: A sound mixer in the production crew hierarchy would be in between the middle because the sound mixer has a say in what they think would make the show better they also work closely with the Director which shows as a sound mixer they do not get controlled and get to what to do.
___________________________________________________

Job Roles of a Vision Mixer

The vision mixers main job is to switch from video to video these can include different camera shots to different video inserts. The Vision mixer also has the job role of making the colour contract on the camera’s in the studio are at the right level according to the type of scene/shot. A vision mixer has an important job role to edit live while the show etc is be filmed lived, they use a variety of different methods when editing live such as, cuts, mixes, wipes, frame manipulation etc.  A vision mixer joins images together from various visual sources, including cameras, video tape recorders. Vision mixers work closely with directors to artistically take the script, discussing which transitions are required from shot to shot. They also discuss which visual effects or graphics should be used to make the show better to watch.
Duties: A vision mixers main duty is to always communicate with the directors and also have a responsibility to supervise the studio technical team. For a vision mixer their main duty overall is to overlook all the technical crew to make sure they understand what they are doing and to also make sure the quality of work they do is up to the standards set by the client. By looking closely at what a vision mixers main duties are you can see clearly that a vision mixer will be high at the top of a structure of the crew team because they work closely with the producer and director and they also have the duty to look after and observe the technical team which means if there are any problems that side of the crew team that the people we go straight to a vision mixer, just like if in school an assistant head teacher cannot deal with something then they would go straight to the main head teacher.
Skills: A vision mixer must have many different skills in order for them to do a good job at what they do, these skills can range from different things for example a vision mixer must be good at understand the technical language of the transmission, they also need to be able to multitask and be able to organise everything by themselves. As a vision mixer they would need a lot of different skills mainly because of how high they are when it comes to crew structure of the hierarchies. A vision mixers skill can vary and underneath are just some of the skills a vision mixer will need;
-Be able to fix/sort out any problems that may occur

The director is most likely to be the assisting in the hiring of the cast and sometimes the crew, so this shows that already that a director as one of the main job roles. The director has an important job to decide were the scenes will be filmed; they also need to create a plan of shooting.

Job Roles of a Set Designer

A set designer has a main job role which is to be responsible for collaborating with the theatre director and other members of the production design team. This is an important job role to the set designer because they need to be able to create an environment for the production and then communicating the details of this environment to the technical director, production manager, charge artist and property master.  A set designers main responsibility is to create a scale model, make paint elevations, construct drawing and also communicate with a the production staff.
Duties:

-Responsible for creating the ‘look’ for a project. They also have visually interpretation when it comes to the script, developing characters and environments.
- A set designer has to consider the script and the brief before producing original idea designs because they may not go with the brief set. While being aware of the likely method of animation, in the early stages of a project they will use whatever technique is appropriate to demonstrate the proposed designs.
Skills:
-        Outstanding designing talent

-       Good leadership skills, be able to manage others.

-       Be able to manage the schedule set and be able to prioritise certain aspects.

-       Ability to receive and address comments

-       They need to be able to take directions from others and give directions; working as a team.
  Training and Qualifications
Set designers are most likely to have an established track record and be selected on the basis of the suitability of their style of work, and their sympathy for a practical project. This shows that for a set designer they do not need a specific degree to become a set designer but it is likely that a set designer has an art0related degree but may not have any experience of animation. So when it comes to set designer its more about your practical knowledge and style.

Hierarchies
In the hierarchies I would expect that the set designer is quite high because they not only take orders from the director they also give out directions. They also have a lot of say in what happens and works closely with the whole of the production team, they also have the authority to overlook a script and give their thoughts. A set designer does not really have anyone that controls them which is why I would say they are not at the bottom of the hierarchy for production team.

Job Roles of a Floor Manager

A floor manager is the Directors representative on the studio floor this is because a floor manager is solely responsible for the entire floor; they have a responsibility to give instructions and direction to the rest of the crew and also to the cast and guests. The floor manager is always in direct contact with the director which is why the floor manager has the closet role of an Assistant Director.  A floor manager as a frequent job role this is the entail barking orders to keep the production moving to the set schedule. A floor manager also has the duty to make sure that the floor is clear and safe for the performance requirements; check that any scenery or set piece is ready to be used as required. The floor manager also has the responsibility of turning on the appropriate lights, giving announcements to staff and audience and also helps to maintain the set quiet and in order.

-Another skill that is useful for a floor manager is that they need to be confident, they need to be sure of what decisions they make and also be confident at talking to all different types of people from different ethnicities.

Training and Qualifications
To become a floor manager there are no set educational requirements but entries are very competitive, so it’s very hard to become a floor manager so it would be very useful to a some GCSE’s (A*-C), including English and other languages because sometimes as a floor manager you get jobs overseas so it would help you to be able to have an understanding of other languages

There is a range of relevant qualifications available and these range from all of these:

-       BTEC First Diploma in media.

-       City & Guilds qualifications, such as the Level 3 Diploma in media techniques.

-       AS/A level in media studies.

-       BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in media production.

-       HNC's/HND's, foundation degrees, first degrees and postgraduate qualifications in film and TV production.
 Hierarchies

The floor manager is very high in the production crew hierarchy because evidently they are in control of the whole set and have to give directions to the crew members. The floor manager is just under the Director because no one has the authority to tell the floor manager what to do apart from the director it is the floor manager that tells everyone what to do.

It is also the presenter’s job to keep the audience highly entertained this is through the way they may talk whether it very serious or funny depending who the target audience is. A presenter needs to adapt their mode of address to the circumstances, this is important because if the presenter was to talk very youthful and the show it supposed to be aimed at the order generation they will lose viewers interest so it is very important that the presenters are good with adapting. The presenter of a show is required to read from an allocated script this is to make sure they do not run over time and get the main questions in interviews answered. A presenter’s main job is to make sure they present all information that audience want to know for example if someone like Justin Bieber was to go on the show and broke up with his girlfriend the audience would expect the presenter to ask about it in the interview. It is important for the presenter to keep conversations following as much as possible when being filmed live and also to stick to the allocated to for each segment this leaves a lot of responsibility on them because if they run over time on a interview it would mean something would have to get cut in the process so the show do not run over their time period. A presenter may have the job of writing their own script to follow through with for example on the chat show ‘Piers Morgan Life Stories’ he uses his own script because there are certain questions he wants to ask.

 Duties:
-It is important for a presenter to prepare themselves for an interview so for example if they were to interview a racer is important they find out information about him prior to the interview.

- Another duty for a presenter is to make sure they adapt themselves to the specific target audience so in our case e4 have asked for the show to be aimed at 14-20 year olds therefore the tone of voice and language used would be different to how you would present to older people.

- It is also important for the presenter to work closely with the director when it comes to the script because some presenters like to write their own script and have to do so with the director so the director can complete the full script with camera directions and so on.
  Skills:
-A good presenter needs to be very confident because if you are watching a show and the presenter does not look confident presenting the show you would get bored easily.

-A presenter also needs to be able to communicate with everyone especially because they have to interview so many guests and meet loads of new people.

- A presenter also needs to be able to project their voice in order for the audience to understand them and be more entertaining to watch.

To become a presenter there are not no specific qualifications you need however it would help if you have a qualification in Drama and Media, this is to help I both the way you speak and knowing how everything works backstage as well. To support these qualifications it is very important for a presenter to be very confident, well-spoken and very enthusiastic.
Hierarchies
The presenter in the hierarchy would most likely be near the top this depending on if it Is their show for example Piers Morgan show was he’s own idea which is why he writes his own script and has a lot of say in what happens. The presenter works under the producer and also the floor manager as these two jobs give them the necessary directions needed to complete their duty.

Job Roles of a Lighting Desk

Lighting Desk is essentially were one person is in charge of all the lighting aspects, they are responsible for the lighting in the studio and how it comes across when being filmed.  Overall the lighting is one of the most important parts of a production whether it is a chat show or music show because the lights are what give the production the visual style making it either looking very eccentric or very calm. Lighting on a production can really change the atheistic purposes from different emotions and so on so it is a great deal that the lighting matches the show. The lighting desk works closely with the director and also the floor manager. They also may sometimes collaborate with the set designer to make sure they tie in the theme to make the overall set better.
The lighting desk person is also responsible for the little lighting aspects for example making sure that all guests and presenters are visible and the lighting is not to dark or light, they also have to make sure the lighting they use to make the presenters and guests visible also goes with the theme of the show. -The first skill a lighting desk person needs is they need to be able to work under pressure this is very important especially if they are filming live and the lights go wrong and at one point you do not see one of the guests etc, so it is important that a lighting person can work under pressure even if something else is going wrong.

-It is important as a lighting desk that they visually have a creative mind so when they are doing the lighting that the lighting is very creative and comes across very interesting because something so small like the lighting can engage someone.
